Manchester United hosted FC Twente at Old Trafford in Europa League action on Wednesday night.

Here’s what happened.

Man United held to surprising draw with FC Twente

A goal and a mistake from Christian Eriksen saw Man United held to a 1-1 draw with FC Twente at Old Trafford.

Twente almost opened the scoring when Sam Lammers pulled his shot just centimetres wide of the post.

When the game was looking like a chess match, it was going to take something special to make a breakthrough.

And Christian Eriksen did just that when he delivered a stunning finish from the corner of the box right into the back of the net.

Into the second half and that strike was cancelled out by Lammers, delivering a superb finish at the near post after a lung-busting run from in his own half, the ball given away by Eriksen.

Only an outstanding save from goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall kept Man United from finding a late winner.
