Arsenal defender Ayden Heaven is nearing a move to Manchester United.

The 18-year-old is currently on scholarship terms at Arsenal and they are set to expire at the end of this season. he has however been offered a professional contract by Arsenal, but he is set to join United.

Eintracht Frankfurt had also shown an interest in Heaven, who visited the German club earlier this month, but United are advancing in a deal for him.

The centre-back was at Old Trafford last week to see United’s win over Rangers in the Champions League.

Heaven has regularly trained with the first team at Arsenal and was part of their pre-season tour to the US last summer.

He was handed his senior debut in October during a Carabao Cup win at Preston, while he has also been on the bench for games against Manchester United and Tottenham.

Heaven was part of the same scholarship group at Arsenal as Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, representing England at Under-19 level alongside them.

The teenager began his youth career at West Ham, joining them at the age of eight and spending four years there. He was let go at the age of 12 and spent a few months with Chelsea on trial.

Heaven will be the latest Arsenal youngster to leave the club in the past year in favour of a move to Manchester United.

Striker Chido Obi Martin made that exact switch last summer after deciding not to sign scholarship terms with the Gunners.
